Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is a programming language that ships with all Microsoft Office applications. The most powerful use for VBA is automation of existing tasks that a user regularly performs. The interesting thing is that it is often difficult to know how much time you can save by automating some of your regular tasks.

Internally we use VBA for Excel to automate some data entry to limit the human error potential, validate entered data to see how much an entered price has changed from the previous day and thus alerting the user of a typographical error.

 

Microsoft included a full VBA port in Office 2011 for MAC, so your (and our) code works in the MAC world as well.
